Tote bag

Ho una passione per le tote bags (altrimenti dette borse della spesa in tessuto). Ne ho tante, realizzate da me come prototipo o comprate qua e la' a pochi centesimi. Mi piacciono per due motivi: 1. ho la casa letteralmente invasa da quelle odiose di plastica prese al supermercato (che in teoria dovrei smaltire come contenitore per la spazzatura ma che non riesco a fare, sia per le dimensioni ridotte, sia perche', viste le quantita', dovrei avere almeno due vite per smaltirle tutte), 2. il tessuto di cui sono fatte (la tela di cotone) e' naturale, ecologico, facilmente ripiegabile per tenerlo in borsetta ed esteticamente bello.

Anno nuovo, "tote" nuova. Quella sopra l'ho realizzata da me con l'aiuto di mia madre con la sua macchina da cucire (che ancora non riesco a "domare"). Mi sono inspirata a quelle che gia' avevo, ingrandendo pero' il modello, ed e' risultata molto comoda e pratica. L'ho gia' utilizzata anche in viaggio e contiene di tutto. Sono molto contenta del risultato.

I'm very keen on tote bags (aka fabric grocery bags). I have many, handmade by myself as a prototype or bought here and there for a few cents. I like them for two reasons: 1. My home is litterally overcrowded by the horrendous plastic shoppers they give you at the supermarket (which, theorically, should be used as a rubbish container, but is hard to do in practice, considering most of them are either too small or too many to be get rid of in just one life), 2. their fabric (cheesecloth) is a natural, eco-friendly material, easy to be folded and be kept in a handbag, and beautiful.

New year, new tote bag. I created the bag above myself with my mother's help using her sewing machine (which, still, I haven't managed to "tame"). It is based on the ones I had already, but I enlarged the pattern a bit, to make it more practical and confortable. I have already used it, and it contains everything. I'm very happy with the result.
